Questions About Best Lighting Betta Fish

Fish other than Glofish for tank with color-enhancing LED lighting?

Several years ago I had 2 large aquariums (55 gallons and 29 gallons), and this drove my husband nuts because I was always fiddling with them. This year he suggested we each buy Christmas gifts for ourselves instead of each other (just for convenience), so I bought myself a little aquarium just to teach him not to do that again. It’s a little 3.-5-gallon tank with special lighting to make Glofish look brighter.

I didn’t think about the idea of Glofish being schooling fish best kept in groups of 6+. This tank is probably too small for 6 fish, but I I don’t want to just get a Betta because I feel like that wouldn’t take advantage of the special lighting feature of the tank, which is really the only interesting thing about it. Does anyone have any suggestions for fish other than Glofish that would be enhanced by these lights?

For a single Comet goldfish, I'd recommend:

1. A 10 Gallon aquarium. (about $15)
2. About 15 pounds of natural colored gravel. (about $5)
3. A hang-on-the-back filter with a bio-wheel. (about $30).
4. Dechlorinator. (about $10).
This should be all you really need. To make the fish really comfortable several plastic plants would be good too.
Try your best to remove about two gallons of water from the 10 gallon tank per week and replace it with chlorine free water using your dechlorinator to make it safe. Make sure the temperature is about the same too.
